Capturing/Editing packets

Post by domis »

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask if it's possible to capture packets (sent from guest os) to edit them and send it where it should be sent? If it's possible I would be pleased if tell me how.

Thanks for reading/helping :)

Hi,

You can capture packet with wireshark (but not editing them and I don't thing you need to). With wireshark, you will be able to see what going on your network (depending where you install it on guest or on host, and depending of you network config in virtualbox's pref).

Wireshark is a bit long to explain but there are good tutorial on the net, google is your friend. With this new knowledge, you will see where you need to install it. Tips : start simpler first and check also network stuff (Wireshark will not help you to explain what pass througth the network just show you what is going on it).
