Yeah I have server 2008 installed on my 32 bit but not R2. It does does not support 32 bit.
Read down to the system requirements of the link. I had to install R2 on my 64 bit PC.

I wasn't saying the statement was right or wrong, only stipulated the facts :D

You misread the facts that were stated here. This topic is about 2008 R2, not plain 2008 ;).

To anyone interested, I'm now running windows server 2008 R2 on Windows XP professional 32bit,
got VT-x enabled chipset (DG33BU) and processor (E6550) and virtualbox 3.0.10 and the hardware is not high-end with 2gb ram
so yeah, it's possible and M very happy 8)
i should note that i got a black screen of death with error code 0x0000225 in the beginning of the installation for not enabling IO APIC..
IT really never ends...

i have this same problem!!
on windows seven 64bit!
polish_windows_server_2008_r2_st_ent_dc_web_retail_x64_X15-50372 from MSDN, i fight with this all day! without resoult
plese help!

Hi, did you try enabling IO APIC? did you try the latest VirtualBox?
IT really never ends...
