Hi All,
I am sure this is simple, easy and I guess I am just too tired to figure this out.
I have Windows Vista (64 bit) running as my host
I have XAMPP running in a Windows XP guest with NAT
I want to be able to (using my web browser on my host) jump to the IP+Port on the XP Guest and use my web service
So, from what I see I need to
set up port forwarding.
do I need to change my apache.conf to change from default :80 to another port?
It is all very confusing!
Has anyone done this already?
Cheers
Vista Host + XP Web Server Guest (and port forwarding)

Re: Vista Host + XP Web Server Guest (and port forwarding)
OK if all you want to do is access you web server from the host and not from the outside world set it up using host-only.
If you also need to have Internet access then add a second virtual network adapter to use NAT.
Please read Chapter 6. Virtual networking in the VirtualBox Users Guide for more information.
Just for future reference, making a statement that you are too tired to look this up will not go over real well.

Will have a look-see thank you!
as for the sleep comments - unfortunately it is the truth (searching for quick answers while at work).

I can appreciate that too, but some things are better left unsaid. Some people really look down at this.
