Run dxdiag and check if you do in fact have DX available. If you don't have that test available, it means you don't have it. In that case you need to do two things. Enable 3D in the VM settings and install the GA in safe mode. If the same doesn't work after that, it's just something that will never work, the game might demand too much. Also, you can't really expect top notch performance. It might be better to run the game on the Host directly, either with Windows (as dual boot) or through Wine.

thank you,
i know about playing games in vb... but game's size is just 100MB and it need just 64MB of RAM...
i ran dxdaig.exe from &systemroot&\system32\ and result of test Direct3D is:
Code: Select all
Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of memory)
Direct3D 8 test results: The tests were cancelled before completing.
Direct3D 9 test results: The tests were cancelled before completing.
if you'll ask me why did i cancel testing for 8 and 9, because if i run it, program crash
so, i'll try to do like you said...
btw: i'll format disc, and reinstal windows 2k pro, i'll instal directx and then i'll instal guest additions in windows safe mode...
should this theory work?
thank you,
MK

Don't install DX, the GA provides that.

You registered only to ask that question? You have a clear warning when you created your post, it said to read the

When you install the GA normal boot, Windows will restore the files again. Safe mode install was all that was needed. If you happen to have an XP license, try that.
