[Solved] Can't install Guest from CD with VB 3.08

I have Windows XP Pro host. I'm trying to install Windows 7 RC 32 bit from a CD as a guest. I get to the "Install Now" prompt for Windows 7. When I click it I get a Load Driver error saying "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."

I have installed this before on this machine just fine. Is this a bug in VB 3.08?

Are you using different settings? Do you still have the ISO of the DVD? If you do, try it with that.

No settings were changed.

I no longer have the ISO for Windows 7 RC.

I created an ISO from the DVD and it appears to be working now. So it appears that VB 3.08 has a bug when accessing the physical DVD drive as the boot drive.

Check the log for that. The last 4 runs are saved. Maybe VB encountered some errors on the disc or drive. Can you try again with Passthrough enabled in the VM settings for the physical drive?

Just tried it with Passthrough turned on and it worked.

Passthrough did the trick for me as well. Once this was set, I noticed
that early on in the install there is a screen in Windows all in black and
white with a primitive progress bar on the bottom that says "Loading Files"
that either wasn't present before or was very abbreviated. Thanks!!!

I'm trying to install a 2008 R2 64 bit Windows OS under VirtualBox and get the Dreaded "Missing Driver" window.

I've tried creating a new VM for Windows 2008/ Windows 7/Windows 20012. They all give the same error.
