Hi Guys
I've got an interesting one here, which currently has me stumped.
My Environment:
Microsoft WIndows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit (Full Version - made available to Microsoft Partners last month)
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.40GHz (HP6530B Series Laptop)
8 GB RAM
VirtualBox Versions Tried: 3.0.6 & 3.0.8
Issue is as follows:
I can successfully install either of the above versions of VirtualBox, and then run the executable, but when I click File>Preferences, I immediately get an error stating: "VirtualBoxGUI has stopped working" and then the app crashes out.
If I set the VBox exe to:
Run as administrator and try again, I get the same behaviour
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (Not running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (Running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP1 (Not running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP1 (Running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP2 (Not running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista SP2 (Running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Server 2008 (Not running as Administrator) I get the same error
Run in compatibility mode for Windows Server 2008 (Running as Administrator) I get the same error
The above are all the compatibility options I have, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and have tried excluding the USB, Network and Python support but I'm always getting the same error.
