Host: Windows XP SP3
VB Version: 3.0.6
--------------------
Guests: Linux (CentOS5.3, Ubuntu 9.04)
Question: I have 4GB installed on XP (host) with 3.49GB appearing under System Properties>General (no idea where the rest went...). However, when creating a new Guest VM, VB does not allow more than 1500MB base memory to be allocated. The Base Memory Size sliding bar has a range of 4MB to 1500MB, and it does not accept anything higher to be typed in either.
On this forum I have seen posts that refer to larger base memory being allocated, so I am assuming it is not an inherent VB restriction. Also, was not able to find any reference or setting in the VB manual regarding this situation.
Thanks,
ilyas

Re: Can not allocate more than 1.5GB RAM to Guest!
Was in the changelog of 3.0.6 and discussed in the discussion thread. It was even explained in the beta forum.
