virtualbox.org

VirtualBox 3.0.8 won't work on my Solaris 10 Update 5 box, so I
installed version 2.1.4. It seems to work ok except the control key
isn't recognized in the guest OS (I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 as a guest).
I searched the forums but didn't see anything about this problem. Is
this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

Which control key? Have you tried changing the Host-key to a different key instead of right control (default)?
