Sharing folder from windows xp in windows 7

Hi,
I have windows xp as my host and i have installed windows 7 as my guest .
Can anyone share me the exact stpes how to share my Xp drives so that i can access it from windows 7 .
i have tried specifying shared folder in virtualbox and also executed the cmd C:\Users\xxxxx>net use x:\\vboxsvr\shared -p in my guest command prompt.Its not working.

PS: i have virtual box 2.1.4 installed on my host OS

Are you sure you installed the Guest Additions, and specified a shared folder in the Guest settings?
