Host-only networking on Win7 64-bit with Ubuntu 9.10 guest

Hi,

I'm using VirtualBox 3.0.6 on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate RC and with the latest Ubuntu beta (9.10 Karmic Koala x86)
as the guest. NAT networking works fine, but host-only doesn't seem to work at all. Any host-only
interface on the guest fails to get an IP address with DHCP and if I set one statically it still can't ping the host.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Ryan

Host-only will setup a second adapter.
Run ifconfig in a terminal on the guest and ipconfig /all on the host to see the addresses.
You can change the address scheme and turn on DHCP in the VBox program under file -> preferences -> network.

Virtual-box host-only adapter exists in Windows 7 and is enabled, with host IP 192.168.56.1.

DHCP is enabled under File -> Preference -> Network (with the default settings, assigning 192.168.56.101 to 192.168.56.254 to guests).

"ipconfig" /all output (after info about the host's LAN connections):

And as I said, it doesn't work.

An ifconfig -a on the Guest? Tried running dhclient as root from a terminal? Do you have a firewall running on the Host? The default Windows one blocks ICMP ping. Can you ping the Guest from the Host?

Todays update (3.0.8) has fixed the bug. Thanks.
