[Solved] Netbook 1024x576 resolution problem

Post by shshs »

Hi~
I have native Fedora 11 (2.6.30) installed (KDE 4 with GLX support), the latest VirtualBox for now (3.0.6) and guest WinXP SP3. After installing VBox Addons (I've tried many versions: current, 1.6.0, 1.6.6, 2.0.2, 2.2.0, 3.0.0) the resolution of guest is 640x480 4bit.
Guest memory = 384Mb, VideoMemory = 16 Mb.

I know, there is some trick, probably....

Please help.

If you are sure that the guest additions are installed (look at the lower right corner by the clock foe the VBox Icon).
Then click on the guest window at the upper right corner on machine and make sure that the auto-resize is blue meaning that it is selected.
Then you use the mouse click and drag to increase the size or the host+F to toggle full screen on and off.

Hi~
Yeah m0n, that was the trick)))
It works after Auto-resize was enabled again and Reboot. Real resolution in full screen is native (1024x576), Windows still shows 640x480, 8bit.

Thank you! God bless OpenSource people~
