I hope I am not doing to wrong:>) I am assuming I need to dld the new version. After that what are a couple things an idiot could do. Eventually I want to, I think, run ubuntu's latest version. I have an older version in another machine but desperately want to access the net at, or nearly so, the same time for Internet stuff. The modem I have in the linux box is not compatible so I can't use it for net stuff. And I can't seem to keep a lan connection between the two systems working with a twisted pair cable since I have no router. I could use a serial connection except I can't remember how or figure it out. I used to run linksys program under win 98 and found it quite useful for reading unprinted instructions on one while doing it on the other.
One reason I am here is I want to establish myself somewhere I might be able to get the help I would certainly need.

Re: newbie user
So what's your problem exactly? Where is the question? It might be a good idea to read the Forum Posting Guide and also adjust the topic title to something more meaningful (edit your own post and change the subject). After that, read the VirtualBox FAQ to get some information about what VB is all about and some help in setting up a few things.
