Hello everyone,
I installed Windows XP on a VBox 3.0.6 on Win7 host. Setting was ACPI/APIC on, PAE on, 2 cores, AMD-V on.
After the installer finished successfully it tried to boot the system, which didn't really work. The host system is hanging, everything very very slow. VBox CPU usage is 100%. After the guest has finally booted (after some minutes) and actually doesn't have any more CPU usage (guest task monitor), the VBox process still has 100% usage. Even my mouse on the host OS is lagging. I have no idea whats wrong. Single core works, when I enable 2 cores this happens.
CPU is a Turion X2.
Any ideas?

Re: Windows XP on Win7 host excessive CPU usage
Known issue. From what I hear there is supposed to be a fix in the next maintenance release. Select 1 core for now.
