Install of Ubuntu 9.04 hangs on install screen

Hi there, i am trying to install Ubuntu 9.0.4 (ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso) on a standard XP Pro SP3 host. When i try to install Ubuntu I get past the language selection and then have to press install ubuntu but after that everything hangs and i have to stop the VM. Tried reinstalling VBOX 3.0.6 multiple times but this gives no solution, also recreating the virtual harddisk offered no solution.

Any suggestion on how to tackle this problem?

Thanks

In the picture you took, the keyboard isn't grabbed. I'm guessing that's because you were taking the screen shot ;). But have you checked the ISO checksum? Tried the alternative installer, or the direct live environment (you can install from there too)?

When pressing enter on the install screen i see some harddisk activity and then the VM stops. So i am sure that the keyboard is being captured. I will try the alternative installer for ubuntu and let you know if that succeeds. Also moving the menu one item downwards should mean that the keyboard is being captured or am i wrong?

- Tried running the 'live mode' without success, it also hangs on the menu, offcourse on a different menu item ;)

You know the Dutch saying "Eerst kijken, dan zeiken"? That's something you should have done for this ;). Glad it works.
