Installing Guest Additions in Ubuntu, Please Help!

I have a Vista operating system as a host and am virtualizing Ubuntu. Everything works fine but when I go to Devices-Install Guest Addtions, nothing happens. Can someone please help and give a detailed instruction on how to install Guest Additions on Ubuntu? Thanks!
