My mouse scroll wheel is simply not working well in either of my virtual machines. I have to scroll really fast for any scrolling to be recognized at all.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm sure my configuration is set to automatically configure my hardware using hal. My mouse works except for the scrolling problem.

I fixed mine by changing it to use the PS2 instead of the USB input. I have not had a single problem since.
I did need to find a USB to PS2 adapter.

Is it a USB Mouse and you have USB enabled for the Guest? If yes, i think USB Filters for the really needed device should also help. Mouse and keyboard are not needed for the guest to be native.

It's a wireless microsoft mouse actually. Does that change anything?

The reciever is of course usb though, and that's plugged into a usb port on my keyboard, which is of course plugged into its own usb cord.

It shouldn't. Mine is a wireless USB mouse and I got an adapter and plugged it in and it worked fine.
In fact I had a problem that the USB key board was repeating keys in the Virtual Machine and switched it to PS2 and fixed that as well.
