Trouble with resolution.

Post by Ryff »

Hi all!
I have such a problem: when i use "SUN xVM VirtualBox Guest Additions", the system doesn't let me make the resolution more then 800x593. And without Guest Additions with every resolution which is more then 800x600 i can not see the Start panel.
In addition: i've already used VirtualBox + winXP on it + Guest Additions on the same laptop and everything was ok, so as nothing was changed (in my system) since that time, i have no idea what is wrong
PS: sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

With the Guest Additions you should be able to use the mouse drag or host+f (full screen) toggle to set the resolution. You will not be able to have more than the Host so if the host resolution is 800x600 then the host+f will give you 800x600. You do not set the resolution in the guest screen settings.

But when I'm trying to drag it, the window turns like that: http://data3.gallery.ru/albums/gallery/ ... 73407-.jpg
And to be certain, Guest Additions turns resolution to 640x480, so, without it, it's even better (as the default resolution is 800x600).
PS: sorry for that I'm replying only now.

Dynamic resolutions is disabled for your VM. Hit Host+G or click on the Machine menu, then Auto-resize Guest Display. Now all changes to the window size will update the resolution.
