I am using XP SP2 and VirtualBox 3.0.6

When I start VB, I immediately get the blue screen of death, and am forced to reboot. There was a time when I had no problems with VB, but don't remember adding anything either USB or program that might cause this.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Windows host BSOD's are usually caused by driver issues. More than likely the network driver or audio driver. If you upgraded from 3.x.x I would try to go back to that version and see if the problem goes away. If so then you can let us know, and probably file a ticket with Bugtracker.
