Bridged network and streaming media issue

Running Windows 7 64 Bit Host, and Window Home Sever Guest (problem also exists running an XP guest). The WHS is running Comodo firewall and antivirus.
To test this is a bridged network issue (may be security settings I don't know), I also have a USB to LAN adapter (Toshiba Multimedia Center) which I can use to connect to the network and the internet.
I use Pinnacle ShowCenter to stream media to my remote Media box attached to my TV in the lounge.
When using the Toshiba connection to the network only, my Showcenter box shows 3 types of connection to my "media server" running in the VM:
<name of the PC> which is listening to port 8000 HTTP for connections
a direct UPnP connection
Media Center connection (MS MCE)
All three connections work and connect to the server fine.
When I use the bridged adapter (network and internet work fine in the VM), the Media box only sees the first entry as above, and even then it fails to connect properly: I get something that I would describe as a webserver page error when its not available. As this connection works via the Toshiba USB to LAN Ethernet connection, I know the server is set up correctly. Disabling the firewall completely doesn't make any difference.
So, are there any tweaks that I should be aware of to allow transparency through the bridged adapter to allow streaming of media?
