Connection to vitual Ubuntu server on Windows host

Post by Janis Janovskis »

Hi,

I have a problem I want to have a connection with my guest Ubuntu server 9.04.
On my host I have internet connection with dynamic IP`s

I`ve tried to set up static ip kind 10.2.0.15, which I got out from route and Ifconig comands, but it still does not give anything. It gives out errors, that there is not enough information.
Maybe I am doing wrong with network adapter settings, should I choose Bridge instead of NAT.

All I want to do is establish connection between host and guest for my developments.

Bridged will get you there faster. If you use NAT you will need to do some port forwarding. Remember that to be able to use Bridged you need a router in the network.
Or you can leave it NAT to be able to get to the internet and add a second adapter as Host-only and that will work too.
