Can't uninstall/ upgrade

Hi,
I got vbox version 2.X running on a WXP host.
I recently wanted to upgrade to 3.06 but it is not possible.
The setup abords (severe error).
I can't uninstall the 2.X version either (same error).
If I delete the installation folders the 3.06 setup still abords with the same error.

What can I do?

Two things that you can do to see if you can get this installed:

1. Right click on the install program and then left click on run as admin.
or
2a If that fails you need to reinstall version 2.2.0 and select repair. (DO NOT reboot)
2b Run the version 2.2.0 install again and tell it to uninstall (DO NOT reboot)
2c Run the new Version 3.0.x install and see if it works (This time reboot)

USE the version that you had if it was not version2.2.0

Thanks repair did it.
Repair was the one thing i forgot to try.
