Bridged Networking Not Available

Hello All! I recently updated VBox to 3.0.6 and now I don't have any Bridged Adapters to use. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling VBox to no avail. I've also tried manually adding the driver/protocol to all my network adapters. It used to work before but I can't figure out what the problem is.

I have the following adapters in my Inspiron 1525
- Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN wireless
- Marvell 80EE8040 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

What version did you upgrade from?

Hi...

I have a similar Problem with Virtualbox 3.0.6 and Bridged-Networking. There isn't any network-adapter from Virtualbox installed yet.

Is it possible, to install manually an bridged-network-adapter?

Best regards

Andreas

@gismo82,
Was this an upgrade or a new install?
If it was an upgrade I need to know what the version was that you upgraded from.
If this was a new install then you can run the install again and this time right click on the install and left click on run as Admin. select repair. Reboot when completed.

I upgraded from the 3.0.6 beta. But it was really flaky in 3.0.5 as well. I've tried reinstalling as administrator and that isn't doing it either.

@wildthunder555
It would really help if you would update your profile so I can know what I have to work with. Host OS, Guest OS, OSE or PUEL Vbox.

Did you uninstall the beta before you upgraded?
You can try to reinstall the beta version, then without rebooting uninstall by running the install again and select to uninstall. Then still without rebooting install the new version. This time reboot and see if bridged mode comes back.

I completely uninstalled the beta before loading the full blown 3.0.6. I've also tried removing my network adapters, uninstalling, restarting, reinstalling network adapters and the reinstalling VBox... All in that order

I did a search here of problems that match yours and only found a handful. I would try to uninstall the 3.0.6 version and then re-install the beta version or ever version 3.0.4 and see if it works. If so then wait for the next release (I am sure it will be out soon). Also look at the place that the VBox program files are stored. They changed the location in the the last release and that may be what is causing your problem.

I dropped back to 3.0.4 and the bridged networking works fine... who needs to get the report of the bug in the networking portion of the program?

You submit tickets to bugtracker (link is below my post). You need to setup an account there though because it is on a different system, sorry.
