Windows 7: no sounds

Post by masu »

Hello,

I use Virtual Box 3.0.6 in connection with Windows 7 as guest system and windows XP as host system.

Currently I have the problem that the sound in windows 7 doesn't work. I already tried different sound devices in Virtual Box but this doesn't help.
Does anyone know, how this prblem could be solved?

You need to select the ICH AC97 in the VBox guest settings then you need to start the Win 7 guest and download the realtek.com drivers and install them. After that you need to force Win 7 to check for updates and it will install the proper drivers. Reboot when complete and you should have sound.

Just Windows Update should have been enough. Worked for me at least on both RC and RTM.
