How to set up external hard drive

Post by dhs13 »

How do I set up virturalbox to attach my external hard drives to virtural session?

I am coming from Vmware that sees the external drives automatically.

thanks

How do you want to access the external hard drive? Through USB directly, RAW Disk, Shared Folder? Does the Host need to be able to access it at the same time? You're not very informative on what you want. Go read the manual, then you know what options you have and can explain here what you want to accomplish.

I read the manual. External drives must be connected via GUID. How do I determine the GUID of an eternal drive?
thanks

Connected via GUID? Is that some new interface? Why didn't you answer my questions first, before asking a new one? If you need to pass it through USB, a specific filter can be used, but you can also use no filter at all, all you need to do is mount it manually.
