I am running VB on a Win7 host and have a VM guest of XP. Everything installs well until the CD key entry. Regardless of the key I use, the "CD Key invalid" message is returned. I have tried retail, OEM and VL versions of XPsp1 and sp3, using previously validated keys. I have tried .iso and CD mounting. I might as well be entering gibberish. My next effort would be to try to do an unattended install, though I would have to figure out how to do that.
Any ideas?

Re: CD Key invalid
If the CD key you type is being echoed on the screen correctly then it must be reaching the guest correctly. After that, refusal to accept a particular key is between you and the guest OS, nothing to do with VirtualBox. You need to contact whomever sold you the guest OS, for technical support.

Re: CD Key invalid
You have to make sure the key is for the Windows version you are installing. You can't use a VLK key on an OEM or retail install media and vice versa. Also, some OEM keys won't work on Retail media and vice versa.
