[Solved] DevATA_DISKFULL

Post by einy74 »

I have VB 2.2.4 on Win Vista ultimate 64 host. Installed Win2k3 SP2 32 guest. All went great until I start installing MSSQL2005. In mid installation I got the error: DevATA_DISKFULL. VB freezes. After restart I kept getitng the same error as soon as the guest starts. My virtual disk is 20GB dynamic expand. On the host it shows a size of 4GB. Physical HD still has 70GB free.

Why ma I receiving this error and does anyone know how to avoid it?

Thanks a million in advance

Typical problem/solution, use NTFS and not FAT32 for your VDI disk.

VDI is NTFS but physical drive is fat32.. does that cause a problem?

Just realised... of course it causes a problem FAT 32 cannot have a file larger than 4GB...

OK, in this case, if I move the VDI to an NTFS partition, will that solve the problem??

Thanks

It worked...

I just moved the VDI from a FAT32 partition to an NTFS partition and the problem is solved.
