I use "Windows 7 Ultimate x64" on Vista Ultimate x64, and I have no sound with all the possibilities: DirectSound, nullsound, AC97 & SoundBlaster16 ...
My motherboard is Gigabye M85M-US2H (v1.1).
What can I do?

You can try to use the search function. YOu have to install a realtek sound driver in the guest.

I installed the latest Realtek HD drivers and try those that came with my motherboard (in the Guest), nothing changes…

You must have the ICH AC97 controller selected in the guest settings and then you install the realtek drivers from realtek.com in the Win 7 guest.
After that you force Win 7 to do an update and it will load the proper drivers. Reboot when complete.

The problem is still there, the proposed solutions do not solve anything. I also installed the 'Guestadditions' too.
I tried reinstalling the system (guest), install the drivers r2.33 (because my motherboard has a Realtek ALC888 chip) and under the various modes of sound, but still nothing. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the "Multimedia Audio Controller" with the "?", update the driver with Windows update or manually with the Realtek's driver, still nothing…

My Windows Seven (guest) version is : Windows 7 Ultimate Build 6.1 7600 (RTM) x64 (french)
My Windows Vista (host) version is : Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6.0 6002 SP2 x64 (french)

Note : Under Mandriva (GNU/Linux) 2009.1 x64 sound works perfectly…
