I have a ubuntu 9.04 host with windows xp pro guest under virtualbox 3.0.6 puel. Everything is working perfectly including usb.
Second machine on the network is also ubuntu 9.04 with virtualbox 3.0.6 puel. rdesktop-vrdp will connect from this second machine to the first machine's vrdp server but the usb will not redirect as I am expecting it to. rdesktop is launched with "rdesktop-vrdp -r usb -r sound - x lan <host>:3389" /etc/fstab has the line "none /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=85,devmode=664 0 0" added to it. My user name is also added to the vboxusers group.
Section 11 of the manual makes this warning" Note - The current rdesktop-vrdp implementation does not support accessing USB devices through the sysfs!" and gives different options for various distros. None appear to work for jaunty.
Does anyone else have this working under these conditions or able to point me in a different, forward moving direction?
rdesktop-vrdp USB redirection - ubuntu
Re: rdesktop-vrdp USB redirection - ubuntu
See the FAQ and such for usb alternatives, usb over vrdp or rdp have never really worked as intended.
