Running XP-SP3 guest on Kubuntu 9.04 host and VB3.06
I have defined several shared folders in VB. I have also added these folders as Network Places w/in Windows for faster access.
I can get to these folders in the Windows file manager by double clicking on the Network Place, but not if I do this from an application's file dialog box. From within an application, I have to go to "My Network Places > Entire Network > Virtual Box Shared Folders", which defeats the purpose of defining a Network place.
This is not the case for my company's network drives, which can be accessed from within application file dialog boxes both ways.
Any idea what the problem might be?

Problem accessing Linux host directories
Re: Problem accessing Linux host directories
It not a problem as such, but more that VBox SF are the poor mans file share, either use real (samba) shares or map(net use) a drive letter.
