Can not use an USB, HELP!

Hi,
I'm new here, so at first I want to apologize if I ignore your rules or habitudes (which I don't know).

But let's talk about my problem... :D
I use Virtual Box on Vista and I installed XP at the Virtual Box. Every thing works well, just the USB doesn't work. If I wan't to use an USB device in XP, there appears an error message. I often read about that problem. Many users fixed it by editing the programm code. I never could read how I have to do it exactly, because I don't know well how to work with the editor. If I need to fix it on the that way, please explain it for dummies.... :D

Thank you for answering.

p.s. : I don't know how my english is, I hope you understand it (an answer in german would be great).

Be more specific: "An error message..."

How strange. You don't know the rules, but you did manage to find the New Topic button, ignore both the Forum Posting Guide in the topic list, and on the Post Topic page. How can someone miss that? :?

And what did you read, where did you read it and what 'editor' are the users talking about? What program code? Does the VM has USB installed properly? Did you actually enable USB in the VM settings? Tried it without the USB 2.0 option enabled?

Hi,
I didn't say, that I read the guide. I just wrote those sentences to be careful, i think I know the basic rules. Did I do something wrong? If Yes, I'm sorry :|

As you can see, I put a snapshot of the error at here.

Always if I start the Virtual Box, the programme want's to release the HD again and I have to set the HD again. Why doesn't the Shared Folder appear in the VI?
Can somebody help me?

Thanks, sorry for my english

Basic rules do apply here, but we have some additional ones, like search before posting, give as much info as you can, etc. There was not a single bit of useful information in your post.

Now this is something more useful. The problem is that the Host has grabbed the device first, and holds it so you can't release it. For example an autorun dialogue, explorer window, some program that reads files from the device. Release the device through safe removal, unplug the device, select the VM so it has focus and then plug it back in. If you set a filter for it, it should be grabbed automatically. If not, then it should be safe to add it.
