Need uninstal help, please

Post by Cycledelic »

Hi, all!

I checked the FAQs and couldn't find anything precisely the same. To make a long story short, I need to completely remove Vbox 3.0.4 from my computer. I am using VMWare Workstation and wanted to use an OS not supported by VMWare but supported by VBox. I installed VBox, and created a virtual machine which I then intended to convert to a VMWare virtual machine. Bad idea! When I installed VBox it installed some network drivers, and VMWare networking stopped working! I uninstalled VBox, but that did not remove the subject network drivers. For the record, the driver identifies itself as "VirtulBox Host Interface Networking Driver Miniport" in Device Manager and "VBoxNetFlt Driver" in Local Area Connection.
I've run the normal searches on the boot drive, and there are no files containing Virtualbox or VBox in their file names. There are three registry keys that refer to the "Host Interface Networking Driver" that likewise defy deletion.

PLEASE, can someone advise me how I can remove every last vestige of Virtual Box 3.0.4 from my computer, and get back to work? Please understand, I'm not blaming VBox for the problem, but I do need some help to resolve it. Thanks, folks!

Reinstall VBox 3.0.4 and select remove. If you have already uninstalled it then you should reboot. If it is still not removed you need to install it again (do not reboot) then run the install again and tell it to remove. Reboot when complete.

Thank you, Perryg! I'll admit I had considered that, and was timid about reinstalling VBox. I'll give it a try and get back to you.

Thanks again!
