Losing Network Connection (Ubuntu 9.04 VM using Bridge)

Post by mcbrided »

Anyone have ideas as to why I might be losing my network connection periodically? It seems to come back up after a few minutes (or if I reboot) - however this is a big hassle. Have to run everything I am doing in a screen instance and then wait for the network to reconnect whenever I am working remotely on it.

VM Config:
Ubuntu Server 9.04 (base install with ssh) + all updates
1x 2.8 Ghz, 1GB Ram, 40GB HD
Network in Bridge Mode

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I'm runnig VBOX on a vista host on my laptop. My guest system is Xubuntu 9.04. In Vbox I activated the NAT adapter. If I start the Xubuntu in the Vbox, my wlan network connection to the internet is always broken or blocked or do work very very slow. Most of the packets of a ping request will be lost. The problem occurred as I installed Vbox version 3.0.6. With shutting down guest the network blocking problem disappears.

Any idea what can I do???

Switch the virtual network adapter to the IntelPro/1000 T server. This should fix your problems.
