multi users / thinclients

I am trying to find information on using vbox in a multiuser AD environment that includes a future migration to thin clients. I tried to search this website before posting but the search option was not functioning, so please do not regard this post as laziness, but that I am trying to figure out where to begin.

Firstly, does vbox make this possible or should I be looking for a citrix solution. Also, the reason I am looking at vbox first is because we are a non-profit / school organization

I serve around 60 clients, we currently have a win 2003 server environment and XP for the clients.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or input is welcomed.

Best,

VBox does not know anything if a Guest is a thick or thin Guest, you can install anything as a Guest including citrix, so you can create a citrix farm of 4 on one quadcore Host.

Install guest machines on a server and then checkout "ThinClient OS" on your thinclients. This is a live cd which can be installed on your desktop machines. These can be old desktops with little resources since all processing is taking place on the Vbox host server. This Linux based distro has multiple remote clients including RDP, VNC, Citrix-ICA from which you can access your guests running on the vbox server. I am still working on a method of integrating with AD. Check it out and let me know if you come up with an integration solution.

Regards,

David

dgress, thank you for that insight... Since I am extremely new at this, I will let you know what I run in to with regard to AD. I am asking these questions, but I have yet to even put together a test lab (which I will be doing today / tomorrow.) I will post the results sometime next week unless some other solution comes along
