[Solved] No audio in windows xp guest ubuntau linux 9.04 hos

Post by HamletDRC »

I can't get audio to work in a Windows xp guest in ubuntu linux 9.04 host

In VirtualBox Settings->Audio, I Enabled Audio. WHen I boot into windows the windows still thinks there is no audio device installed.

My host audio is set to PusleAudio, controller set to ICH AC97 and SOundBlaster with same result.

Am I skipping a step somewhere?

Using the ICH AC97 adapter in the guest settings, open the XP guest and then go to the Windows device manager and tell it to rescan for hardware change. See if this will get it going for you.
