Hi All,
After update from 3.0.4 to 3.0.6 all usb devices in my guests stopped working (Debian and XP)...
I uninstalled 3.0.6 and returned to 3.0.4 and everything back to normal.
Is it broken or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Are you sure you installed the PUEL version of 3.06.
You profile indicates that you are using the OSE version.

Sorry - I didn't know what it means. I use PUEL (VirtualBox-3.0.6-52128-Win.exe).

difference between
PUEL = Private Use Evaluation License (closed source, RDP support, remote usb via rdp. usb support (allegedly) =) )
OSE = OpenSource Edition (no usb, no rdp)..

Re: 3.0.6 usb support broken?
I have the same situation here, though I have the PUEL version downloaded from virtualbox.org.
Host : opensuse 11.1
Guest : Win2K
Guest additions installed in "No failure" Windows guest mode to try to have the 3D support (However dxdiag still reports no 3D and texture support)
EDIT : same thing for Vista Guest: USB devices appear in Grey in the peripherals menu of the VirtualBox window and I do not see them in the Windows guest.
(also, in Vista, dxdiag reports Activated for Direct3D and not available for textures, in 32 bits mode and Direct3D and textures not available in 64 bits mode, but this would be the subject of another post)

Solution for my case (no more USB with host: opensuse) found by hank_se in this other post http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... 25&start=0

Re: 3.0.6 usb support broken?
I've the same problem, with 3.0.6 version and Device lock software (USB in white List).
After uninstall Device Lock and downgrade version 3.0.4
No problem
Réinstall Aditionnal tools and reboot Host after first connection USB device
Good Luck
