RDP Vista Host into Windows 7

Hello,
Looking for help. I have a vista host with Windows 7 v/b'd which I want to RDP to. I've followed instructions on the net to do this.

I've enabled the remote display in VB
I've enabled Remote desktop connection in guest
I've enabled (and also disabled) the same in the host.

ipconfig shows the ipv4 address as 10.0.2.15, yet I get timeout when I try and RDP in from the host. I've also tried setting up the net adaptor as NAT and bridged.

Is there anything else that I should be trying, as articles on the net make this sound as if it is simple??

I'm using VB 3.0.6

Than ks :)

Port forward from the Host port 4389 to the Guest 3389, rdp via localhost:4389, or use Bridge and rdp into the Guests IP. See the Manual.

I'm struggling with that - I can forward the port from the host ok. This was the site I got the instructions from. Something must be missing yes?

Read the manual about port forwarding, its all in there, that other article is about vRDP which is NOT the same as RDP, vRDP is a VBox system of connecting to the Guest VM, RDP connects to the Guest directly.

See also the forum FAQ, I've updated it with for vRDP and RDP.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I understand where I'm going wrong if all I'm doing is using vRDP.
