Hello
I found problem in sharing files Between my Machine Windows Vista
and VirtualBox Ubuntu Machine
I used the Command as described in the User-Manual as follow :
mount -t vboxsf [-o options] sh /home/thepatriot/mount
However the response was :
mount: only root can do that
------
Well What is root ??
And How can I Send Files to Guest Machine is there another way with out using the complex terminal??
Once again I am Using MS Windows Vista
And I need to Send Files to My Guest Machine Ubuntu
Note : I am New to both Ubuntu & VBox

I used another, easier solution. I created a VM machine with XP as well. Them Ubuntu can mount that drive as a second drive, and you can copy files over to the XP disk (XP VM has to be off of course). Then, once I've done all the file copies I want, I shut down Ubuntu, start up the XP VM machine, and use regular shares to copy the files to my Vista64 system.
It is a round-about way, but I find I can move files between all 3 systems (host and 2 guests) quite easily.

In fact, when installing Ubuntu, and having the live XP system mounted as a second drive, the grub boot menu gives me the choice of booting Ubuntu or XP, all within the Ubuntu VM....

I had some problems to share folders in the beginning but know I figure it out.

First share a folder in the Virtualbox options

Then go to Ubuntu in the terminal and create a folder

ex: mkdir /mnt/videos

Then mount the drive

ex: sudo mount -t vboxsf videos /mnt/videos

It's done, if you want to mount at boot just edit the file /etc/rc.local

cd /etc
sudo gedit rc.local

and add this line

mount -t vboxsf foldername /mnt/foldername
