Problem Description: My system got hanged so i shutdown it directly by pressing power button after that i was not able to start virtualbox for using windows xp .so i reinstalled the virtualbox 2.2.4.now it shows the error
Failed to create new virtual machine

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)

Please help

Finally i fixed the problem.
It's because in Virtualbox file-> preferences the default machine location and default hard disk folde location was pointing to wrong location,
