AMD 64 and VT

Only a Question to Users with AMD CPUs:
All FAQs assumes, that you must have a Bios, in which VT must be enabled.
I have now 3 Boards (Gigabyte/AMD 64 3800, MSI/AMD 64X2 4200, Asrock/PhenomX3).
I did not found any setting in all bios for vt, but on all boards/cpus i can start 64 bit guests without any problem.
Has any AMD User a Bios setting for VT? If not, the FAQs should be updated.

On my ASRock A780GMH/128M motherboard with a Phenom II X2 545 ( changed to quad core, by the way ), in the BIOS, in Advanced -> CPU configuration, there is a setting called "Secure Virtual Machine" and its default value is "Enabled" according to the manual. I believe this is why you can also run 64 bit guests without problems as I am sure your motherboards should have a similar setting.

You are right. I searched for a Option "AMD V" or "Pacifica" and did not found it. But this is the right option.

A friend of mine has a Gigabyte motherboard and there it's just called Hardware Virtualization, or something like that. It wasn't really stable to have it enabled with the default BIOS, but after an update, it booted normally (the system itself, not a VM, as he didn't even has VB installed).
So, in case other AMD users wonder why their system might be unstable after enabling it, or can't find the option, update your BIOS.
