Nvidia EN9600GT on Windows 98
Hello guys! I have a problem. Recently I installed MS Windows 98 on my VM. But now I can't find a way to install driver for my graphic card. I can't set up higher than 16 colors, 640x480 without a driver. Maybe someine had the same issue and can help me? Thank you.

You need to read more about what a Virtual Machine is.
The VM cannot see the physical hardware, only the virtual hardware.

What do you not understand? There are no Guest Additions for Win98. Win98 is not supported, It may run.
Check the WIndows Driver (bearwindows). Set Sound to sb16.
Try this. If you have problems, come back with detailed informations what you have done/tried.
Dont expect getting step by step howtos. This is a forum where people help without getting any payment.

Re: Nvidia EN9600GT on Windows 98
Here's the deal. Simply asking this means that you are not going to be able to get this going without a lot of time and patience. When you get it installed and working as well as it can you still will not be able to do much with it due to the age of the software. With that said you need to install the video driver that they talk about on the link I sent you. for sound you need to select the soundblaster for the audio adapter in the guest settings as well as in the install of Windows 98. If you don't want it to eat up all of your processor then you will need the special "rain" program.RB26DETT wrote:I saw that topic, but i have no idea what i should do with those files. As for a detailed step-by-step I simply don't have the time right now but if you google installing Windows 98 in VirtualBox there are 1,000's of entries and even some You Tube videos that will explain this to you.

Finally, i managed to install driver, now i have 256 colors and 1024x768. I installed Need For Speed II, but it lag a lot.
P.S. I have troubles with driver if I installed 128 or 64 MB of video memory. 32 works fine but game lags. Help pls.

Re: Nvidia EN9600GT on Windows 98
NFS needs DirectX, and that's not available for W9x Guests. Use XP or newer, but the game might not run on that.
The driver issues are explained in the howto, and there is even an FAQ entry about it on the main site (link at the bottom of the VirtualBox FAQ).
