Unable to install 64bit OS's!

I read, read and read, and I am still unable to install either 64bit Vista or 64bit Windows 7 in Virtualbox.
This is the message I keep getting...
I have no problems with installing 32bit OS's. Just 64bit.
I am running Virtualbox v3.0.6 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Can anyone help me, as I really don't want to use VMWare if I can help it.
Thanks.

The error says enough. You say you read and read and read, but you obviously didn't read the Manual or
VirtualBox FAQ where the requirements are mentioned.

So by the looks of what you pointed out, my crappy Quad Core Intel CPU has let me down yet AGAIN!
I really now wished that I stuck with AMD.

The CPU might have it, it might not have it. The biggest issue is the motherboard if your CPU has it.

I have an Intel Q8200 Quad Core cpu.
Why oh why did I leave AMD? Anyone want a swap? lol.

Have you checked your BIOS for an option to enable VT-x?

If you mean Hardware Virtualization, then pointless even checking the board as my crappy Intel processor doesn't support it!!
Pretty pissed off about this as I can't run XPMode in Windows 7 either because of this.
I'm definitely going back to AMD next time. Cheaper too!

Yes most of the Q8xxx line do
not support VT-x though there are a few rare SKUs that do. That is a strange hole in their quad core line-up (All the main Wolfdales/dual cores support VT-x).

LOL! Trust me to pick the one that doesn't! :-/
Never mind.
This Sun Virtualbox is superb software all the same. Great stuff.
