how to upgrade?

Going from 2.2.2. to 3.x and I really don't see any documentation on the upgrade process. Can anyone point out what I'm missing?

Also when moving through the process it says it will disconnect me from the network, is this referring to the clients or the servers. If I'm working remotely am I going to lose my VNC connection?

Where is the documentation on upgrades?

Upgrading from 2.2.2 to 3.x should be done by uninstalling VBox and then installing the newer version. Some have been able to upgrade but there were a lot that had problems that way. When you install or upgrade the host you will loose connection for anywhere from 1 second to how ever long it takes. I would not try this remotely because it will disconnect your network connection and at best you will need to reconnect and worst (if the server is off property) you would need to have someone there or you would need to go there to finish the process.

Updating/Upgrading should be covered in the VirtualBox FAQ.
