hello all,

want to install on a physical drive using VirtualBox on Ubuntu 9.04 running off a USB version of LiveCD. had some probs but sorted most of it out by googling around. the VM boots of a DVD image but soon after that i get a dialogue box saying "setup.exe - Application Error" and sth about an unknown exception. not sure how to go about fixing this and would appreciate any help, thanks.

and also, if the install succeeds vbox then will vista run if i try to boot the partition? (i don't mean virtually in vbox) trying to do this 'cause my original windows went kaput and the CD drive as well. not sure if my current config is important but if needed then plz let me know.

thanks!

not getting many replies but i'm getting desperate so here's a few more queries... would appreciate any feedback :)

* finally got the setup right, or so i thought. started Vista install but it got stuck soon after i choose the partition to install it to. thought maybe can't write to the disk but apparently around 65 MB was written onto it!?

* on the machine details, the hard disk is listed as "Normal". saw a screenshot on a tutorial that said "Writethrough". is that significant? and if it is, how do i change it?

thanks.
