I got the same problem with Virtual Box 3.0.4 on a Windows 7 host with Windows XP running on it.

Even if I set filters in the USB properties, I cannot access any USB-Stick.
And I get always the following error:

USB device "Kingston......" with UUID {.........} is busy with another request. Please try again later.

Thanks for any help with this!

Just found a statement from you Perryg in another Thread:
... you need to setup VBox to use the device with the below information in the guest settings.

Use a blank filter (.) and then boot the guest. Unplug the USB device and plug it back in to get focus and it should appear in the guest.

That being said there are those that say you do not need any filters defined in the VBox settings and just unplugging and replugging work, or going to the device tab in the guest and selecting the device will work too. I find that this does not always work as stated and the use of the blank filter works better. Your choice.
This one worked for me :D

Hope we can mark this Thread as solved now, markboston!

nope as i have no idea what that is telling me to do. whats a blank filter? it seems that when i click on the device the windows driver install window pops up and says the device is unplugged which it is not.

I've the same problem, with 3.0.6 version and Device lock software (USB in white List).
After uninstall Device Lock and downgrade version 3.0.4
No problem
Réinstall Aditionnal tools and reboot Host after first connection USB device
Good Luck
