Hi,
I have a Aspire One running Ubuntu UNR 9.04 with a Windows XP SP3 guest.
I don't appear to be able to increase the screen beyond 640x480 even when I select Full Screen from the VirtualBox menus.
I just can't get Windows to fill the available screen.
At the moment I can work around it by running an RDP connection to the VirtualBox. That way I get a full screen but it is more difficult to access the running Linux desktop.

Any ideas how I can get VB to go full screen?

Have you installed the guest additions?

Is automatic resizing enabled in the Machine menu (Host+G)? When it's enabled, resize the window or go to full screen, it should change now. You can't set a high resolutions through the Display Settings. Sometimes it does work, but usually isn't.

Host+G doesn't alter the screen area and Host+A shrinks the linux windows to the size of the Windows screen (640x480)
Seamless mode works better as the Windows windows cover the width of the screen with only the Ubuntu UNR bar remaining at the top.
It would be nice to get rid of that.

As I said, Host+G enables dynamic resizing. Change the size of the VM window and it will change the resolution. Seamless works, which means you have the GA installed. That takes care of the resizing.

Yep, you were absolutely correct! Finger trouble at my end. I must have been selecting the options in the wrong order or something.
