Copy + Paste Host to Guest not working.

Post by Laszlo »

Hi. I'm running Windows 7 RTM x86 as Host with a number of different Guests on vBox 3.0.4. I all cases I am unable to copy from the host to the guest, I am, however able to copy from an XP Guest to the Host, but not from any Linux Guest. I have tried various combinations for the shared clipboard settings and only receive the functionality described above with the shared clipboard disabled, every other setting prevents copying entirely.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You need bidirectional clipboard enabled AND install the Guest Additions to support that. Linux clears it's clipboard when you close the program that stored something on it. If you would copy something from your terminal and close it, that piece of text will be gone too. You can't copy/paste files, only text.

Hi Sasquatch, thanks for the reply.

I reinstalled VB and it now seems to be working correctly... :)
