Will Win 7 Enterprise Trial run on VBox?

VBox User Guide only mentions Win 7 Beta although Win 7 RC runs fine. How about the Win 7 Enterprise 90 Day trial OS?

Is the Win 7 Enterprise download an ISO file? If not, how is the installation procedure different?

The download is a 2.24 gig download from technet, and is an ISO file.
You should be able to install it in VBOX, but I have not installed it yet. I think I will here in a bit to see what all the hoopla is about.

Thank you, PerryG.
That's some download. No wonder they said it would take hours, although it is an unattended download.

Actually the install went better than it ever has. I am using the 3.0.6 Beta1 VBox and after the original install and doing the first update the audio driver was installed without installing the realtek driver like had to be done before.

As a side note it works well at 512 meg of ram as well.

Really? Win7? I admit I've not tried it yet, but I assumed it was a derivative of Vista, and would be as hungry as before. Given what you say, I'm hoping that Win7 may turn into a lean mean replacement for XP!

How many processes are running in a bare Win7 install?

(I'd try myself, but I live in a rural location with 1Mb/s ADSL, I don't fancy a 2.2GB download!).

Alas I am stuck to the 32 bit version and I can not use SMP on this PC either due to the fact that you must have VT-x to get the new features.

I don't mean SMP, I'm just asking how many processes are listed in the "Processes" tab of Windows task manager. For comparison, my XP Pro here has only 17 processes running (but that's not a bare install, that's after I've disabled all the services I have no use for).

The version that I am currently running is the W7 Enterprise RTM and out of the box install with no services stopped = 34.
The actual speed with 512 Meg is faster than you would think. I still need to load up the guest but from the initial get go it appears to be fast and working with all the VBox drivers well.
