I just wanted to thank you guys for all of your help. Also, I found a solution to my problem (kind of) and I thought I'd share it.
I was never able to connect to that robot controller via LAN. I tried all of the suggestions and various adapter configurations. So my "solution" was to get a USB to Ethernet adapter at Radio Shack ($25.00). I installed the drivers on both the Host and Guest systems. I can now connect with no problem.
I really like the idea of having a virtual machine that I can use to install software that I don't want on my main machine but I gotta admit, I thought it'd be easier to use.
Thanks again guys
