Since you have more memory you now need to be sure that the guest additions are installed properly. They must be installed in safe mode.
Press F8 as soon as you start the guest and select start in safe mode.
Click device tab at the top left and then click install guest additions.
Open the file manager and select your CD and start the guest additions install.
Make sure that you put a check mark in 3d Effects.
Reboot when complete.
If anything will make this work then this will.
Make sure that you have 3d Effects enabled in the guest settings and you do not need more than 32 Meg Vram. and you should not need more than 1024 meg of system ram if you have that much to spare now. Watch for guru mediation warnings. If they show up turn the RAM back down until they stop popping up.
