fatal error when trying Trickster Online

virtualization is heaven with virtual box, and everything apart from usb(but maybe i know how to get that working) has surprisingly worked fine, the main reason i tried virtualbox was to be able to play this one game called Trickster Online. The game installs and loads fine, updates fine, gameguard runs fine(yes!), BUT when its about to actually load the game it 'crashes' and the virtualbox resets completely, it doesnt only crash the game and loads back to windows, but crashes everything.

now my guess is that it happens, because im not sure if wine CAN run this game yet, in spite of it having very simple graphics, maybe some effects are too complicated? or maybe virtual box isnt fully compatible with what wine is atm...

either way, this is the strangest crash i've ever seen, but most other apps i've tried work just fine. ill keep testing them as i can.

i run Ubuntu 9.04 on a core2duo, with nvidia 8600.

cheers

You might try the latest beta to see if it still crashes.

well 3.0.6 beta doesnt seem to have any d3d upgrades.

and yeah i checked some docs, it seems vbox can only do shader 1.5 atm, so maybe thats why. most games require at least shader 2.0 i believe.

i'll keep an eye on vbox never the less.
